Here’s an unhappy guy

Off we go to the great state of Illinois.

Meet State Representative Mike Bost who has had it up to here with pension reforms.

The folks around him just sit and look bored.
We suspect Bost has done this before.

Yeah, he’s Republican.

Hirono needs to give it a break

We’ve never been great fans of Mazie Hirano.

Her naked (sorry for that image) ambition leads her down the path of just about any election she stumbles across.

We interviewed her once on a radio show many years ago and it was a chore.

She was dismissive and utterly humorless.

Remember what they say about first impressions.

David Shapiro takes her to task in his column in this morning’s paper.

Keep in mind the political wisdom that debates don’t help an incumbant or a politician leading in the polls.

That why a challenger wants as many as possible and why the frontrunner wants none.

Former US Representative Ed Case wants to debate.
Live, on TV, so lots of people can see them.

Hirono has said no.

It doesn’t pay to save

We’re not sure if we’re back – or not.

But there are some things to talk about and maybe it’s time to breathe some life back into this old blog.

But not at the high story rate we did before.

Here’s something you probably don’t know about when it comes to the federal budget.

The money is flying around like crazy right now.

Agencies that have a few bucks left over are trying to spend it before they lose it at the end of the fiscal year.

Why do such a stupid thing you ask?

Because they think they have to.

Let’s put it this way:
You work very hard for $1,000 a month.

You eat and live simply and manage to save some money each month.

At the end of the year – whatever you didn’t spend has to be given back to your employer.
