Mr. Smith goes to jail

18 Jan

It’s been way too long since we caught a politician misbehaving.

Please meet Georgia State Representative Kip Smith.

Part 1:

The 29-year old Mr. Smith is a co-sponsor of a bill before the Georgia Legislature that would require random drug testing of people getting welfare.

If the person is over 18 and tests positive – no more welfare for two years.

The man believes in tough love.

Part 2:

Mr. Smith has been arrested and charged with DUI, according to an Atlanta police report.

Smith was pulled over after leaving a restaurant and allegedly running a red light.

Seems an Atlanta police officer was following his gold four-door Jaguar XJ8 when he blew through the intersection.

Yes, a Republican State Representative in a gold Jaguar.
Party of the people.

The officer asked him to blow into a hand-held “intoximeter” and Smith blew a .091 – which is above the legal limit of .08.

Arriving at the city jail, Smith as given two more breath tests, and he blew a .099 and then a .100.

End result – he was charged with three offenses — two DUI charges, and the third, failure to obey a traffic control device.

He was released on bond and drove off in his gold Jaguar.

Come up with your own moral of this story.
