TV ad slams Romney

28 Sep

The Obama campaign has released a brutal new ad hitting Mitt Romney on his 47% comments caught on hidden camera.

These will air in seven key swing states: Ohio, Virginia, Florida, Iowa, Colorado, Nevada, and New Hampshire.

We put this spot on our list for the most-devastating of the presidential campaign.

What’s devastating about it, besides the juxtaposition of Romney’s words against photos of regular Americans, is something you’ll only notice the second time you watch it.

It’s the sound of silverware clinking on china in the background as Romney speaks.

This contrasts the atmosphere Romney lives in with the one in which most Americans live.

You can tell, even though you’re not seeing this, that the remarks are being made to people at a formal dinner.

The damage here is twofold:
It deeply reinforces the worst stereotypes voters have of Romney.

He’s currently running ads trying to make the case that he does care about all of America.

That underscores the position in which Romney finds himself.

Worse still, the comments destroy his fundamental credibility.

America sees what he says behind closed doors.

This just goes to show how toxic the political environment is right now. Things are being taken out of context to make Mitt Romney look bad. Even if his percentage numbers were not exactly right, everyone knows there are a number of Americans who are going to vote for Obama no matter what. Whether it be out of need, race, or the many freebies the Democrats are using to buy the vote.

It wasn’t that many years ago that someone ran for office talking about what they would do and why people should vote for him or her.
Now campaigns are based on why you shouldn’t vote for the other person.

Voters reward that by putting them in office.
      It happens because it works.

That says as much about us as it does the politicians.

Mitt Romney is giving Americans the jist of what he plans to do, but he can’t be specific because the Obama administration would only steal those ideas. Why? Because they don’t have any of their own. Why? Because his agenda is to give people fish rather than teach them how to fish. Human nature always takes the path of least resistance, and Obama knows it.

You are entitled to your opinion, of course.
But as a voter, we would like details before we turn our country and future over to someone.

The purpose of any election, or job interview or first date, is to convince the other side you can do the job better than who’s doing (or done) it before.
We think you’d agree: if you were questioned by a physician as to how you’d respond to a certain medical emergency, generic responses would not be adequate.

Being fearful of someone stealing your ideas when millions hear you explain them first doesn’t make much sense to us.

        Just a thought.

Please explain exactly how it’s ‘out of context’–being a short clip doesn’t prove that in and of itself. I’m in the 53% that does pay income tax…and it still seems unpresidential to me.
