A letter to be proud of

14 Feb

Paul-Broun-sizedRepublican Representative Paul Broun jumped into the US Senate race last week.

The southern gentleman promised a calm, cool and constructive attitude through the campaign.

Still the only candidate in the 2014 race so far, he politely and respectfully disagreed with President Barack Obama’s State of the Union speech.

And he promised to work with his Democratic colleagues in Congress.

Too good to last you say?
Of course.

In a letter looking for donations, Broun shines up his resume with some good old shock and awe. A few selected paragraphs:

“As a Member of the House of Representatives for the last few years, I have fought tooth-and-nail against President Obama’s agenda at every turn. I was the first Member of Congress to call him a socialist who embraces Marxist-Leninist policies like government control of health care and redistribution of wealth…

In Congress last session I was honored to enjoy a close friendship with TEA Party favorite Lt. Colonel Allen West from Florida.

On the Senate side, I’m a staunch ally of now retired Senator Jim DeMint of South Carolina – and of course, Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky…

I will never sacrifice my principles for the sake of “political expedience” to make President Obama happy…

… Nor will I ever bow down and kiss the ring of leaders like liberal Democrat Harry Reid to win favor in the Senate.

I am my own man. Always have been. Always will be!

I am a constitutional conservative FIRST — and yes, I proudly belong to the limited-government wing of the Republican Party.

Just about every week, my friends and closest allies congratulate me and genuinely thank me for telling the truth of just how messed up this country has become under President Obama.”

This isn’t the first time he’s gone off the deep end.

He once said, “All that stuff I was taught about evolution, embryology, Big Bang theory, all that is lies straight from the pit of hell.”

You did know the guy’s a medical doctor?

He’s also accused the president of upholding the “Soviet constitution.”

The man’s a gem.

Howdy, I think your site could possibly be having internet browser compatibility problems.

When I look at your blog in Safari, it looks fine however when opening in IE, it’s got some overlapping issues. I just wanted to provide you with a quick heads up! Besides that, fantastic website!

We tried to find any overlapping issues but it looks fine in IE9, Chrome, Safari and Firefox.
The actual blogging is done in IE by our folks but we also check with the others on a semi-regular basis to see make sure it displays correctly.

We’ll keep an eye on it.
