Newly elected, it’s his first town hall meeting, but not many were going to know what happened.
A Tea Party group that organized the town hall ordered a blackout during the scheduled question and answer section of LaMalfa’s appearance.
Supposedly everyone, including any reporters, were asked not to tweet his comments, or face a forever ban from future events.
TV News was also told no taping of the congressman’s introduction or the Q&A session.
To top it off, the TV station was booted out the door before the Q&A session got under way.
Tea Party members say it was because they were unhappy with the media’s past coverage.
Could that be the real reason?
Or maybe it was this comment the Congressman made last year during a debate linking abortion to cancer.
“Research has shown there is that there is that higher level of incidence, there is that risk and so I would want women to be fully informed of all the aspects of it before they would make a decision like that. I think that shows more care for women then by simply shuffling them off to an abortion mill and so that’s a very important distinction that needs to be made.”
Yup, he’s one of those shoot from the hip guys.
No wonder they scooted the press out.
